Bentley Mulsanne

Bentley ceased production of the Arnage in 2009. And Mulsanne started rolling out in 2010, a piece of motoring brilliance that will definitely reach the pinnacle of engineering, style and substance. Named after their line of luxuries produced from 1980 to 1992 and from a stretch at the famed Le Mans circuit, the Bentley Mulsanne began delivery of first orders in mid 2010.

Even though the new Bentley Mulsanne has been officially unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on 16th August 2009, little is known about the new offering from Bentley. The Mulsanne will be the first Bentley to be completely designed, engineered and manufactured at Bentley’s Headquarters in Crewe, England since 1930. It is now the flagship model for the Marque Bentley name.

The Bentley Mulsanne looks heavier set than its predecessor, the Arnage, though with a slightly shorter wheelbase, but with a much classier design and would definitely turn heads for its unique and regal feel when it is driven on the road. While the Bentley Arnage had a mean twin turbo 4.4L V8 engine by BMW, the Mulsanne will have its very own 6.75L V8 engine modified to fit into the redesigned Mulsanne. With its traditional comfortable ride and superb suspension, the Mulsanne promises to be a large, comfortable yet fast car.

History of the Bentley Mulsanne comes from the Le Mans 24 Hour Race, where Bentley has been victorious an impressive six times. Hence, the stretch of road and its corner at the end has been named the Mulsanne corner; in honor of the number of wins and how Bentleys have held their ground in the Le Mans race; fast and turns corners particularly well. With its impressive pedigree and known as one of the most luxurious Marque names in the motor vehicle world, Bentley looks set to redefine quality and performance with the release of the Mulsanne. Before the Mulsanne, the Arnage was in a class of its own in the luxury saloon department. A couple of redesigned Arnage was used as an official state car for Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee in 2002, an honor for the Marque and the model.

Before the Arnage, the Bentley Brooklands were manufactured from 1992-1998, with an exquisite interior that Bentley is well famous for and featured an angular designed. In 2008, a coupe version was released with only a rare 550 cars will be produced and featured ceramic brakes that provided the best brakes in the form of the most stopping power than any cars available in the market. With an outstanding pedigree in the Arnage and the Brooklands, while little is known about the new Bentley Mulsanne, it is safe to say that the Mulsanne, with its striking features that will be built from the ground up will most definitely be a grand tourer meant for the most prestige dignitaries, royalties and the wealthiest in the world.

The Bentley Mulsanne will be on display again from 15th-27th September 2009 at the IAA (International Automobile Association) Frankfurt Motor Show where more of its specifications and details will be released to the public. So, if you are a fan of Bentleys, looking to get the new Mulsanne or just interested in what the new Mulsanne has to offer, drop by Frankfurt during the period mentioned above and you can view when it goes on display for all to see. This display is definitely not to be missed by Bentley fans all around the world! If you live in Frankfurt where the motor show is held, get your cameras ready and be sure to post your pictures up online!

What a great looking car! Actually, I have a picture of a sporty Bentley hanging on my vision board. Not because I plan to run out and buy one - but I like looking at quality - and this one is supposed to be a hybrid. What a machine!

Great hub! Thanks!

There are lots of electronic features available in this car. There are 14 total speakers present in this classy Mulsanne. It is so beautifully designed that it easily tugs at everyone heart strings. http://www.joy2day.com/cars/bentley/mulsanne/bentl
